BS in Fire and Emergency Services (FES)

Admission Requirements

What if…

… I hold an Associate in Arts Degree?
If you have an Associate in Arts degree from a Florida community college plus foreign language requirements, you may apply as a transfer student. An AA degree from another state must be evaluated by admissions staff for completion of general education and foreign language requirements.

… I have an A.S. degree in either Fire Science, EMS or Emergency Management?
You should request that your transcripts be reviewed. If you have taken the general education prerequisites or their equivalents and have completed the foreign language requirements, you can apply for admission to the FES degree program. If you have not taken all of the prerequisites or their equivalents but agree to do so, you may be conditionally admitted to the University of Florida . You will be able to take FES courses while you are finishing the prerequisites.

A student may take UF FES courses prior to gaining acceptance with an AS or AAS degree as a "non-degree seeking student." There is a limit of 5 courses that can be taken in this category. In this period of time, the student is expected to finish any outstanding general education requirements and will then be admitted.

Another option, is for the student to pursue one of the three Certificate programs, which each require 4 courses to complete:
